DIY Christmas Paper Baubles

Like I'd mentioned earlier, I'd DIY-ed *all* ornaments on our new christmas tree this year. While I had some luck with salt dough, paper baubles were a lot more trickier. I realised I need a lotta "fine motor practice" (...yes like little 2 year olds!) Cuz those tiny strips and wires ran wild in my clumsy hands. Well. I made a few, that did manage to make it to the tree, but that's about it. I mean, who needs too many baubles on the tree anyways...ha?

The Practical Mom: DIY Christmas Paper Baubles

The first one:

This one was easier , but somehow it disappeared in the background once hung on the tree.

(1) Cut many circles, (I traced circles with my pepper shaker). Some were from plain red construction paper (that I later decorated with my metallic marker cuz it looked, umm, plain) and some wrapping paper.

(2) Fold them into halves and start sticking them to each other. For one bauble you can use as little are  6 or as many as 12 circles!

(3) Just before the last circle, insert a wire, to enable hanging the ornament.

The second one:

This was as *muy dificil* but looked gorgeous on the tree!!

(1) Cut many strips of paper, depending on how large an ornament you want. The strip should be three times longer than the size of the ornament.

(2) Punch three holes on each. Two near the ends and one in the middle. I used a punch, since I used construction paper (& so had to throw out many strips as the hole would *not* be made in the centre... dammit!)

(3) Start threading all strips on a wire through the middle hole. Then join all the fag ends together to make the upper part of the bauble. This. was . tricky. The strips came coming off before I could finish (dammit!)

Anyways, the metallic dots I made looked pretty when hung on the tree !
