The last ditch christmas resource: Magazine Scrap! {Practical Mondays #38}

From ethereal stars dangling over the dining table to christmas cards sent home to the pool noodle wreath we attempted the first time ever: Magazine scrap was abundantly used! Why not? Not only do they give a vintage feel and are super easy to cut, they also stand out from the reds, greens & glitter

But let me first begin with WHAT NOT TO DO WITH
YOUR POOL NOODLE WREATH.

Practical Mom: Magazine Scrap: The Last Ditch Christmas Resource! And what not to do with your Pool Noodle Wreath!
Pin it Please!

You see these super easy Video Tutorials on youtube and think this can be done in a blink of an eye. Yeah ok, a blink is all you need. But..

But the next day it ended up like this! The ends didn't stay taped together properly and it became an oval instead of a round. Had to open it up and re-do the whole wreath!

Avoid Pitfall: Tape the ends in the direction along the noodle instead of perpendicular to it. That’s it! Once you get the circle, wrap your ribbons & bow ties and add some Magazine Scrap on top to finish off!

  1. Thanks for the feature! I love those scrap paper trees and stars; what a great idea. We're going to try make folded magazine trees this year. Unfortunately I am not so good at keeping old things to recycle and we're waiting for a few magazines to come in so we can read them and then use them.

    1. Even we don't have any magazine or newspaper we subscribe to! This was an old national geographic I bought at a used book sale - only because I didn't find anything else interesting enough to buy!

  4. I just collected and threw out 90% of what was in my son's play room last week, including all those drawing sheets and craft projects from school! Thankfully our son has our genes so he was pretty ok chucking stuff out!

  6. Ha! That would happen to me. It always looks so easy, but I'm sure they miss out the vital stage. Your stars are so effective and it does give a vintage feel. #Trash2Treasure
