Easter Activity: Marbled Eggs

I've been wanting to marble eggs and paper ever since I got to know of the concept! Easter being just around the corner, we boiled 6 eggs. And brought out paints, water and oil.

The Practical Mom: Easter Activity: Marbled Eggs

First we dipped eggs in light colored paints to create a base color.

Then dried it for a bit in the sun.

Then we poured in dark blue tempera paint in a shallow baking dish containing warm water. Then poured a few drops of oil and swirled it a bit with a disposable spoon. Then dipped eggs one by one- making sure a layer of oil covers most of the surface- to give the marbled look!

The eggs looked gorgeous! Can't wait to try this again.

  1. These would make great eggs for an Easter egg hunt we're planning but didn't want to use loads of chocolate.
