5 (More!) Good Christmas Books (3-5 year olds)

I introduced some lovely concepts related to this festive season last year, from elves to chimneys, so this year we got some more! As Santiago has a dearth of english book stores (and my poor little iPad crashed *sad face* ....*tears*) I ordered some from scholastic - that were bulked ordered by his school. Expensive stuff, but good nonetheless. Here are some good ones!

The Practical Mom: 5 (More!) Good Christmas Books (3-5 year olds)

Stick Man, Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler

Another gem by Julia & Axel (Did I ever mention that we have most of their books? that have been read and re-read a thousand times already?). For some reason this particular one is a bit more expensive than the others (According to me any price of over $7 for a book is expensive ! As there are *plenty* of fantastic books available for all less at $3!). If I had had an opportunity to browse, I would've gotten this one last year itself when my son used to be *obsessed* with sticks! He would look for a *nice* one every time we stepped out of home and had a collection which we weren't allowed to toss out! It is perfect for stick obsessed toddlers & preschoolers! And it's nice to read around christmas cuz Santa makes a guest appearance too.

Snowmen at night, Caralyn & Mark Buehner

It *really* is silly! Why do snowmen look haggard and bent over every morning? Cuz of all the crazy fun they have had all night!

The Practical Mom: 5 (More!) Good Christmas Books (3-5 year olds)

The Lighthouse Keeper's Christmas, Ronda & David Armitage

This was the first we'd read in this series and my 4 year old loved it so much  that I ordered 3 more books from this series! I didn't mind spending $40 on them (although that may be because the prices in Chile for everything have raised my standard of what is acceptable!). But really, they are nice books! If you're so invested in the characters, you want to read more and more, don't you.

The Practical Mom: 5 (More!) Good Christmas Books (3-5 year olds)

Bear's First Christmas, Robert Kinerk & Jim LaMarche

I have included it in the list of favorite since it's my son's fave, not mine, nope not really. It's a lovely story of a bear helping other animals stuck in the snow, but its way too wordy and goes on...and on.. and on... c'mon!

All about Hibernation, Tori Kosara

Since christmas books seem to include animals hibernating, I got him the official book on the topic. I have been reading him these non-fiction knowledge/encyclopaedia books lately and he seems interested.

The Practical Mom: 5 (More!) Good Christmas Books (3-5 year olds)

The Mitten, adapted & illustrated by Jan Brett

It's the classic story of little animals all squishing together in a tiny mitten to stay warm. Although he has heard this story before, you know how it is with kids. they can listen to the same story eleven hundred and fifteen times with the same level of enthusiasm!
