Our Christmas tree topper (& the final tree pictures!)

So except the lace & lights, I made all the ornaments with Salt Dough. Next came the star topper. I thought let me give the stiffening-the-yarn-with-glue method a try, looks darn easy doesn't it? Cut a paper star, put over styrofoam, poke toothpicks on the outline, dip yarn in glue+water mix, wind it around and voila! the next day it comes off nice and stiff. Yeah sure. The next day it went back to square one, a squiggly mess of yarn. whatever!

Then came the very basic DIY. Beautifying a cardboard cut out. Winding some yarn, beads, and a lot of sequins. My 4 yr old and I did this in just a coupla minutes. Easy Peasy.
