I cut up some drawing book pages into squares (or rectangles?). Each square has a word and three pictures underneath (easy ones of course). He had to clip the correct answer.

Of course the drawings or cuttings need not be perfect or artistic, cuz kids don't care about that stuff.
And it didn't matter if the cat actually looked like a Rat to him (baah!)
My personal favourites though are Leg, Jet & Bed. Too funny!
