Kids Art: Squeeze Paint using Disposable Baggies!

Okay I know that we are supposed to use squeeze paint via squeezable tubes but I couldn't find any! I had all these dot-a-dot sheets printed out from Gift Of Curiosity, which are usually colored with q-tips /ear buds and paint. But my 3 year old suddenly took to squeezing glue into each of those dots without even bothering to stick anything over the glue! So I figured it would be interesting to give him some squeeze paint instead.

The Practical Mom: Kids Art: Squeeze Paint using Disposable Baggies!

We made some paint paste, out of tempera, water and white flour. Thick enough to get glue like viscosity.

I had some bubble wrap baggies that had come in a package recently delivered, that were still lying around without being popped or discarded. So I cut off the top, poured in transferred the paint paste by disposable spoons to the bottom. Then rolled the remaining empty part of the Baggie and taped it.

When we were ready for the activity, I cut off wee bit of the tip so the paint could be squeezed out.

This is what we did to make henna designs on our palms when we were kids! Put the henna paste in plastic baggies,or plastic rolled into cones, tape the top, and cut wee bit off the tip to squeeze enough out!

The kid loved this activity for obvious reasons but mommie isn't really looking forward to an encore! As a 'Practical' Mom, the rule of thumb is that the prep time should be significantly lesser than actually activity time. Making those baggies took time! and was tedious!

So I'm gonna look around a bit more for squeezable tubes!

Until later! Stay in touch!
