Paint a Cardboard House

I'm not too crafty. And neither were all those cardboard boxes in our house crafty worthy! (Damn you online shopping!). But then while clearing out the clutter, I saw this AMAZING cardboard piece in my camera box! It looked like a perfect cute little house! I *swear* this is how it looked unaltered! I didn't have to cut or fold or do anything! Just open the top flaps in the shape of a roof!

The Practical Mom: Paint a Cardboard House

I showed it to my 3 year old, who immediately claimed its a little house for Peppa Pig, George, Daddy Pig & Mummy Pig. Now I'm sure if you have little kids you know of Peppa Pig and if you don't, I recommend you should! The only two "video" streams I let him watch on the weekends are the amazing "Book" videos on the Pink Fong app (I've got 'em both from iTunes & Android) and Youtube's Peppa Pig Channel! Both are pretty nice, gentle, well mannered, with no aggression at all (well that's how I would describe the opposite of what comes on TV! Thankfully my kid doesn't know that there are dedicated channels for children- yet!)

He loo...ves Topsy & Tim (& their Mummy & Daddy) too! Topsy & Tim are a series of books that are a bit similar to Peppa Pig. Each book takes you through life experiences such as flying by aeroplane or playing football. They're ALL his imaginary friends.

For a family of four, I stuck smiley faced stickers on four cylinder beads. Two little smiley faces for the kids and big ones for mummy & daddy. Simple! He effortlessly switches between the two families. Sometimes they're Peppa & George's sometimes they are Topsy & Tim's.

He brought out his cars and created a "parking space" while I brought out some of his recent art work- i.e. painted Leaf Strings & Stones and created trees and pathway, with the help of some playdoh.

What color do you want to paint the house? ummm white! with a big of pink! so thats what he mixed and painted.

The other piece of cardboard was supposed to be a birdhouse. But then he quickly realised that the family cannot travel in his toys cars. So this box became the car.

So here's pretty much the finished product!
